A circular issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism has announced that all clubs in Abu Dhabi will be closed until the end of March 2020.

The announcement has been made as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and inspections are expected to be carried out to ensure strict adherence to the new measures announced.

The move follows the temporary closure of other tourist hotspots in the city including several cafés, parks and other attractions. Earlier this month, a number of large-scale events such as music festivals and gatherings were also cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

A statement issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism stated, “In line with preventative measures for coronavirus (Covid-19) the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi is instructing all tourism establishments and event organisers in Abu Dhabi with a ban on all events and the operating of night clubs”.

The civic authority is taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of the citizens and to curb the spread of Covid-19.

All citizens, residents and families are urged to follow precautionary hygiene measures namely, washing hands with soap and clean water, and covering the mouth and nose when sneezing, to minimize the spread of germs.

Stay safe, everybody!
